This movie is based on a true story and in the future will become a holiday classic. What we've got here is a superior cast playing with an inferior script, but the cast is so superior that, really, who cares? In fact, the supporting cast is like a TV walk down nostalgia (or neuralgia) lane. I looked up both Alice and Brian and was surprised to see the extensive bio of work.

I loved Cody and I'm glad he won her. There were moments I thought to myself "she is not bad" and then others moments when I was left scratching my head. Within minutes, the kid and the gramps are getting along, and it's only a matter of milliseconds before she becomes wildly enamored of his friends, as well. Oh, Becca is also very talented in a gramps old song-and-dance kinda way. She was stiff throughout the movie.
May God pity the souls who made this. I kept saying through out the movie to my mom, "Why can't all guys be Cody Cullen!?" I thought everyone did a wonderful job at acting. I wish I'd taken the time to meet him while he was here. And for the ladies, you'll get to see some eye-candy.

Heyif the greeting-card industry doesn't know how to yank your Christmas garland, who does? Of course Hallmark Channel won't be bringing in any new viewers with this one, because chances are better-than-good that anyone who hasn't spent the day in church/synagogue/mosque/meeting house is not going to be tuning in to see a sentimental made-for-Hallmark movie anyway.

No profanity, no lewd sex scenes, no "blood & guts"! Wow In this day and age, that is a rarity! The story itself is great, the acting was very good.
This film, as with many Hallmark productions, is uplifting and inspiring, not to mention timely, given our current involvement in Iraq. If they had gotten a different actress or even if Ms. What should have been a heart lifting beautiful praise to all the armed forces rings about as warm as that lump of snow your brother used to shove down the back of your neck.

Being beat over the head with the Pro-Military theme. Alice looked like she had a board strapped to her backside. Ed certainly has not lost his charisma. It was a good story with an almost great cast.
Did these guys do any type of practice sessions for any scene in this film? I am a sucker for these type of films and usually give them the benefit of the doubt and will usually record them and watch them over and over.

Finally, while some may think the plot line contrived, there are "Nevada City" cities all over our Country and people who really DO live their lives much as the movie characters do.

This has to be my all time favorite Hallmark movie and in my Top 3 favorite movies of all time. When I'm having a bad day or lapsing into self pity and other negative feelings, I watch at least a portion of the movie.
It is hard to explain without someone watching, but when someone does not understand the subtleties and inflections of a certain accent they come across grid national ny syracuse as stiff and awkward. The lead guy is in the army so of course he is in fantastic shape. It is somewhat predictable in parts, but it is much better than all the other cheesy Christmas shows you'll watch this time of year. I love the snow scenes and scenes of stores and the church because I've been there. When I looked it up on IMDb I found that I was correct, she is from England and has mostly worked in England and France. This is one movie you will want to watch over and over again during the holidays. I make Nevada City my home and was anxiously awaiting the premiere. But once was ENOUGH! Please someone do a little rehearsal before you film it and say cut.
